Ignite Ideas. Incite Discussion. Inspire Change – to the way we teach students. Over my 14 years of classroom experience I have taught Junior, Intermediate, Developmental Skills, Gifted, and even, Core French. I have spent over a year teaching Years 6-12 in London, England and recently spent a year living with my family in Nowra, NSW, Australia teaching Grades 3-6.
As a presenter, educational writer and facilitator, I use my day-to-day experiences in the classroom as a lens to reflect on what’s important and how to improve the learning, achievement and well-being of our students. My passion is embedding technology to offer a student-centered model of learning that supports the development of well-intentioned global citizens.
Currently teaching a grade 7&8 class in Orillia, Ontario and enjoying every day as an opportunity to change what I do! I have thrown out my lesson plans, emptied the filing cabinet and re-worked assessment. I am well aware of the challenges and possibilities that we face, as educators, moving forward in the classrooms of today.
I live with my beautiful wife, Chy-Anne, and our two incredible boys, Liam and Bryce (ages 7 and 9), in the Sugarbush community of Oro-Medonte, Ontario. I enjoy running, writing and recognizing every moment as an opportunity for learning and living!
