Cory has been a Secondary Teacher in the Contemporary Studies department at St. Matthew High School with the Ottawa Catholic School Board for over 20 years. During that time, he has worked to make his classes an intensive environment of inquiry and engagement, as well as overseeing the construction of an in-school recording studio and production space. He is strongly focused on the evolution of media, particularly the recent trends toward the aggressive spread of disinformation and the infiltration and weaponization of social media, and how technology has been exploited in this area to compromise objective reality for students and citizens. In his spare time, Cory produces and plays music locally, spends time with his family, and fervently searches for a “fake news” cure. Or at least a reliable vaccine.
